Guided Fishing Trips

Guided Fishing Trips

Purpose-built Australian bass fishing experiences across the Hawkesbury catchment, planned around tides, conditions and the time of year.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Trip Overview

All guided fishing trips with Three Rivers Fishing are built around conditions, not fixed schedules. The Hawkesbury catchment is a dynamic system, and every day on the water is planned with purpose based on tides, flows, weather and seasonal patterns.

Trips are run as small-group experiences, with a maximum of two anglers per trip. This allows for greater flexibility, more time fishing productive water and the ability to adapt as conditions change throughout the day.

Whether you choose a full day or half day on the water, you can expect a fully guided experience focused on Australian bass fishing. Locations, launch times and techniques are selected to suit the conditions on the day, ensuring each trip is approached thoughtfully rather than following a one-size-fits-all plan.

Full Day Guided Trip

The full day trip is the most complete way to experience Australian bass fishing on the Hawkesbury catchment. With a full day on the water, there is time to follow the tides, adjust to conditions and fish multiple productive stretches of river.

Trips are planned around optimal tidal movement and seasonal patterns. Launch locations and start times vary depending on conditions, ensuring the day is built around when and where the river is fishing best, not a fixed schedule.

This trip is ideal for anglers who want a relaxed but focused day on the water, with plenty of time to learn the system, refine techniques and target quality fish.

What to Expect

  • Approximately 7–8 hours on the water

  • Maximum two anglers

  • Fully guided Australian bass fishing

  • Locations vary across the Hawkesbury, Colo and Macdonald Rivers

  • All gear provided, including rods, reels and lures

  • Trips planned around tides, flows and weather conditions

  • Lunch and snacks provided.

A Typical Day

Each day begins by meeting at the selected launch point, followed by a short pre-trip briefing and preparation. Weather, river conditions and the plan for the day are reviewed before launching.

The first fishing session focuses on targeting productive water based on tide and flow. As conditions change, locations and techniques are adjusted to stay aligned with fish movement.

An optional break during the day allows time to rest, eat and review the plan before heading back out for a second fishing session. The afternoon is often spent refining the approach and targeting areas that come into play later in the tide. Every full day trip is flexible and shaped by conditions on the day.

Who this trip suits

  • Anglers looking for a complete, unhurried fishing experience

  • Beginners wanting hands-on guidance throughout the day

  • Experienced anglers looking to maximise time on productive water

  • Anyone chasing quality Australian bass in tidal rivers

Half Day Guided Trip

The half day trip is a focused, efficient way to experience Australian bass fishing on the Hawkesbury catchment. Designed around peak bite windows, this option delivers a high-quality fishing session without the commitment of a full day on the water.

Trips are timed around tides and conditions, with launch times selected to align with the most productive periods of the day. This approach allows anglers to make the most of a shorter session by fishing when bass are most active.

The half day trip is ideal for those short on time, first-time guided anglers, or anyone looking for a concentrated fishing experience that still reflects the same professional, conditions-based approach as a full day trip.

What to Expect

  • Approximately 4 hours on the water

  • Maximum two anglers

  • Fully guided Australian bass fishing

  • Launch times planned around peak tide windows

  • Locations vary across the Hawkesbury catchment

  • All gear provided, including rods, reels and lures

  • Lunch and snacks provided.

How the Session Runs

Each half day trip begins with a short briefing at the launch point, covering weather, river conditions and the plan for the session. From there, fishing focuses on productive water aligned with the chosen tide window.

The session is paced to maximise time fishing rather than moving unnecessarily. Adjustments are made as conditions change, ensuring the trip remains focused and efficient from start to finish.

Who this trip suits

  • Anglers with limited time available

  • First-time guided fishing clients

  • Visitors looking to experience the Hawkesbury system

  • Anyone wanting a concentrated, high-quality fishing session

About the Gear

Quality, reliable gear is used on every trip. Shimano, Daiwa and G. Loomis setups are standard, with both spinning and casting reels available.

No prior experience with casting gear is required, however anglers comfortable with a casting reel will benefit from the added versatility it offers on the river.

Fly fishers are welcome. While flies are not supplied and instruction is limited, guidance can be provided on where and how to present flies to target fish effectively.

To stay comfortable on the water, anglers should bring:

  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Comfortable, non-slip footwear

  • Any personal medication

Optional:
